Everything you need to know about submitting your artwork for print
It all starts with the art..
Our artwork requirements for DTF transfers are different than the requirements for screenprinted transfers. In this article, we'll explain everything you need to know to get the best results out of your transfers! Looking for more specifics about art for DTF transfers? Click here.
Feeling nervous? You can always choose Standard Artwork Review option when you order, and our Preproduction team will review your file before we print! Read more about that process here.
#1: We print your artwork at the size you submit it.
This one's a big one and that's why it's at the top of the list. If your artwork is 4"w x 8"h and you select the 9"x12.75" sheet to size when placing your order, we will print your artwork at 4"w x 8"h. We do not resize your artwork automatically!

#2: Accepted file types
Submitted art files should be in the highest resolution possible. We recommend at least 300DPI. All files should not be password-protected. See below for a table of accepted file types.
ACCEPTED | NOT ACCEPTED |
SVG | |
AI | CDR |
PSD | DOC |
PNG | PPT |
JPG | XLS |
EPS | CSV |
TIFF | ZIP |
BMP | |
GIF |
#3: Live fonts
In graphic design terms, "live fonts" refer to text that is editable as text. This allows for the text's font and other characteristics to be adjusted. If a live font is submitted to us, fonts may be replaced with our default font and will compromise the overall look of your artwork.
To avoid this, we recommend converting your live fonts to "outlines." This will change the text into shapes that can be worked with by our Preflight team ensuring that the transfer is printed exactly as you envisioned.
Our artwork requirements for DTF transfers are different than the requirements for screenprinted transfers. As such, our Pre-Production team may not flag artwork for the same things as you're used to. Please see below for what we will flag vs what we will print as is.

#5: Copyright
If you have obtained legal rights to print a trademarked image or copyrighted material, you or your business entity would have signed a contract for a license agreement directly from the trademark owner. In order to print these logos, we ask that you please provide us with the proper documentation. Six Thirteen Originals, LLC., reserves the right to request documentation of this permission at any time, regardless of previous order history.
We commonly flag images or logos that are perceived to be trademarked or copyrighted in order to protect our valued customers from legal complications associated with the unauthorized resale of such material. Images that are trademarked and works that are copyrighted are considered to be intellectual property with the exclusive use assumed and granted to the trademark/copyright owner. This property is often protected under state, federal and international trademark/copyright law. Many trademark/copyright laws are held specifically with restrictions on the reproduction and resale of apparel.
Exceptions- Exceptions may be made for parody art or for jobs claiming personal use of the image. (not for resale or financial gain) These exceptions are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. We cannot guarantee you will be permitted to print each time or at all. Limitations will vary by an individual's perception of parody art or personal use rights. Additionally, we reserve the right to refuse to print any design considered to be in poor taste or offensive.
But wait, I purchased this logo online- Purchasing art from online artists/vendors is not considered legal permission to print images for resale purposes. These works of art are often intended for digital or web-based use, in which the "fair use" exception applies. Any image that appears to be trademarked requires written, legal permission from the trademark owner to be used for financial gain. 613 Originals cannot be held accountable for any financial loss due to third-party purchases of digital artwork.
Six Thirteen Originals, LLC. Copyright/Trademark Images Protocol:
Six Thirteen Originals, LLC., reserves the right to refuse to print any design, logo or image that is protected under trademark/copyright laws at any time. Six Thirteen Originals, LLC. accepts no liability for any unauthorized use of such artwork or material.
